2023 South Dakota Minimum Wage Increase

Beginning January 1, 2023, South Dakota’s minimum wage for hourly employees will increase to $10.80 per hour. This increase relates to the increased in cost of living, as reported and published through the U.S. Department of Labor.

Tipped employees will also see an increase in minimum wage to $5.40 per hour. This increase will also take effect on January 1, 2023.

For the 2023 State Minimum Wage Posting signs in English and Spanish, visit the South Dakota Department of Labor’s Minimum Wage website. Compliance with both the minimum wage standards, and the state posting requirements are mandatory.
