The Agribusiness-Minded Advisor

Spirit Lake Attorney

Attorney Channing M. Burd is an adaptable agribusiness and real estate attorney who supports the change-makers in the agricultural sphere through innovation, efficiency, and creation of long-term plans to be pivotal to economic growth and sustainability around the world.

Channing works with Agricultural Producers, Agribusiness Leaders and Executives, Investors, and Entrepreneurs to navigate federal regulations as they pertain to their operation and the everchanging regulatory field. He understands the problems that his clients face regarding cost of supplies and equipment, supply chain issues, as well as environmental issues.

Channing stays abreast of the regulatory affairs surrounding agriculture and food law. He helps his clients with contract review regarding procurement and third-party contractors to minimize loss. He also assists in guiding his clients through business planning and counseling to not only protect personal and business assets, but also to help plan for the next generation of producers to

transition into the family business. Creating new solutions and being able to adapt to a constantly changing environment is at the heart of Channing’s practice.

Growing up in southern Missouri, Channing was raised in the world of agriculture; it’s been part of his life since the time he can remember. During law school he realized he could combine two of his passions (law and agriculture) to make an impact in each field. Channing received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Food and Agricultural Law from University of Arkansas School of Law. Channing became an attorney because he has always enjoyed cultivating new ways to solve challenges and helping people think outside the box to handle the challenges they face with his creative solutions.

Channing received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where his also obtained his LL.M. in Agricultural and Food Law. He received Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Missouri State University.
