Associate Julia Crump focuses her practice on family law, helping clients navigate some of the most challenging and emotionally complex moments in their lives. She is committed to providing clear guidance, strong advocacy, and practical solutions that bring stability and peace of mind during times of uncertainty.
Julia brings a well-rounded legal background spanning courtroom advocacy, government, nonprofit work, and corporate legal experience. Prior to joining Goosmann Law Firm, she served as a Client Attorney at the Women’s Center for Advancement, where she represented clients in protection order hearings, divorce, custody, and paternity matters. She successfully advocated for clients in Douglas County District Court and supported individuals through both litigation and clinic-based services.
Julia also served as a judicial law clerk in Iowa’s Fourth Judicial District, where she drafted judicial opinions across criminal, civil, and family law matters. This experience strengthened her legal research and writing skills while providing valuable insight into judicial decision-making.
She gained federal policy experience as a law clerk for U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she contributed to legal research and memoranda on issues including national security, immigration, and antitrust.
Julia earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Science in Public Policy, with distinction, from Creighton University, where she received the highest grade in Estate Planning. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Western Ontario.
Her passion for family law is rooted in her work with survivors of domestic violence and trauma. Julia approaches each case with empathy, clarity, and a focus on helping clients move forward with confidence.
