Iowa State Bar Association President Bob Waterman appointed Attorney Lindsey Buchheit to serve on the Annual Meeting Committee for the 2011-2012 year.  Lindsey joins roughly 20 other Attorneys from throughout the state of Iowa on this Committee.  More information about the Committee and other aspects of the Iowa State Bar Association can be found at www.iowabar.org.

Lindsey Buchheit is now mediating family law cases in the Northern District of Iowa.  Mediation in Iowa has become an increasingly popular method of resolving family law issues.  The mediator acts as a neutral third party to assist the parties in reaching an agreement regarding some or all of the issues in their case.  Generally, compared to trial, mediation is less adversarial, allows families greater control over the outcome of their case, and saves time and money.

Attorney Lindsey Buchheit will be authoring the estate planning section of the Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) Young Lawyer Division (YLD) Elder Law Handbook; Lindsey is a member of the ISBA YLD Elder Law Committee.  The Elder Law Committee is a volunteer organization of lawyers whose focus is to ensure that current and future attorneys are prepared to meet the legal needs and protect the rights of aging and older Iowans.
